What is a Liver Transplant?
The liver is the human body's largest internal organ, and it serves a variety of vital functions. Many chronic disorders can impair the liver's ability to operate, which can lead to Liver Failure in severe cases. A liver transplant is the surgical removal of a non-functioning liver and the replacement of it with a healthy liver from a living or deceased donor.
- Deceased Donor (Cadaver): A donor is usually an unfortunate individual who has suffered irreparable brain injury/brain death or a living person who has suffered irreversible brain injury/brain death.
- Living Donor: The liver has the ability to regenerate. As a result, a living donor can donate a portion of their liver to someone in need.

- Uncontrollable or systemic
